Celebrating Design, Community, and Creativity in Detroit

Every September, Detroit transforms into a citywide celebration of creativity during the Detroit Month of Design. This month-long festival brings together artists, designers, technologists, and community members to highlight the role of design in shaping culture, driving innovation, and building a more inclusive future. Throughout the city, exhibitions, panels, installations, and interactive experiences reflect Detroit’s design-driven spirit and its global reputation as a leader in creative problem-solving.

The festival is as diverse and dynamic as Detroit itself. With programming curated through a community-centered process, each event contributes to a broader picture of what design can achieve when rooted in place and purpose. Whether exploring work by emerging artists or attending a panel on the intersection of technology and culture, the Month of Design invites everyone to engage with ideas that are shaping Detroit’s present and future. It’s a moment when local talent shines and Detroit’s creative community connects with audiences from around the world.

ROSSETTI has been proud to participate in Detroit Month of Design for years, hosting events in our downtown office and collaborating with local creatives to spark meaningful design conversations. This year, two members of the ROSSETTI team are part of the festival lineup. Asia Williams, Designer, will speak at a panel titled Human by Design: Bridging Architecture, UX, and Technology, part of the Black Tech Saturdays Digital Empowerment Summit. The event focuses on equity in tech and the power of thoughtful design in digital spaces. Senior Designer Paul Karas will exhibit his artwork during the Custer Studios Open House and the Detroit Warehouse Art & Design Fair, both of which showcase local artists working across disciplines. Their involvement reflects not only their personal creativity, but also ROSSETTI’s broader mission of contributing to Detroit’s growth and using design as a force for positive impact in the community we proudly call home.
