Leadership
Matt leads the firm’s framework for innovative design thinking. A third-generation architect, Matt became President of ROSSETTI in 1999 and has grown the company into an internationally-recognized design firm. He believes architecture must have a dimension beyond form and function in order to meet our clients’ vision and provide value. To further this goal, Matt founded Return on DesignTM, our unique approach for generating value through strategic design solutions. His passion for urban revitalization has driven the firm’s methodology to integrate sports with commercial mixed-use.
Amy has experience leading strategic real estate development, mixed-use districts, urban infill, adaptive reuse, institutional, and strategic planning projects. Her creative, grounded approach ensures plans and initiatives are implementable with wide-spread community support. She is a powerhouse of creative urban planning and an inspiring team leader, melding design and economic development to create plans for highly livable, vibrant, successful and sustainable communities.
David is responsible for management of all major architectural projects and the firm’s day-to-day operations. He is especially adept at steering project design teams toward execution of the client’s design goals, on time and on budget. David’s technical knowledge has resulted in countless innovative solutions both in facility design and in methodology and process. For example, David worked with the City of Detroit to streamline entitlement processes to condense the time from 36 months to three.
Greg is no-nonsense when it comes to transforming design into reality. His comprehensive understanding of technical design, codes and the construction process and his passion for quality control guide the firm’s technical design acumen. His diverse background ranges from large-scale sports venues and complex renovations to multi-family residential and workplace interiors. Greg has been a driving force behind the firm’s use of emerging technologies.
Holly provides an overlay of high-level interior services, including custom design work, materials and furniture, art curation, styling and branding. Known for her attention to craftsmanship and detail, Holly’s sophisticated aesthetic and immersive environments create a robust portfolio, with a special emphasis on distinctive, historic and architecturally significant projects. A consummate relationship-builder, Holly has an extensive background partnering with entrepreneurs, CEOs and professional athletes.
Kirk’s design background focuses on experiential design for sports and entertainment projects. His clients include professional sports teams, as well as restaurants, bars and casinos. Kirk has a deep understanding of hospitality design allowing him to capture a client’s vision, interpret market data and develop unique concepts finely tuned to guest preferences and premium spaces. He is particularly skilled at integrating client and sponsor brands into architectural contexts.
Matt leads project teams toward innovative solutions ranging from large sports campuses and facilities to commercial properties and interiors. He is passionate about designing outstanding environments for arenas and training centers, and is especially sensitive to the user’s progression from the exterior to the interior of buildings and the programmatic requirements to create unique and seamless experiences. Matt has worked on a wide range of sports and entertainment, commercial and master planning projects. He has the technical skills to work out project details while maintaining the design intent and client vision.
Mike and his team are the enablers of serious fun at ROSSETTI. They are the resources for office-wide solutions, setting the financial and benefits foundation for the firm, maintaining operations and keeping designers wired with leading-edge technology and information systems. Mike integrates all of ROSSETTI’s departments to create a fun, lively environment for our staff to interact during social events inside and outside the office. His nickname is ‘Switzerland’ for his ability to see both sides of any issue and broker solutions.
Sande is one of ROSSETTI’s top technical designers with experience across sports and entertainment venues, hospitality, gaming and commercial development. His knowledge of all phases of the design process, from concept through construction, allows him to bring innovative design ideas for materials and construction to the team. He has a unique ability to balance owner, designer, consultant and contractor needs, ensuring the design vision meets the engineering, program and code requirements.
PRINCIPALS
Christine has a broad range of experience in project management, planning and design construction documentation. As a project manager for ROSSETTI, Christine acts as a center point for both the project team and the client, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the design process. She excels at guiding the client’s vision and facilitating the project’s schedule and budget. A strong leader, Christine has skillfully directed teams while multitasking dozens of details for several large-scale projects such as Greektown Casino and Hotel, the Delray Neighborhood Framework, and Phoenix Raceway.
Craig is an award-winning architect with over 22 years of international design experience within multiple typologies and sectors ranging from commercial, hospitality, arts and culture, master plans, mixed use developments, high-rise towers and healthcare. Craig leads project teams to establish and deliver an appropriate design strategy for each individual client, within their unique context and need, and to create long-term accretive value. Craig’s integrated design team approach, with strong communication skills, balances project budget with beauty and performance. His use of rigorous technical innovation with sustainable design practices is tailored to meet the needs of all project stakeholders. He continues to evolve his practice through an integrated research-led process with diverse collaborators.
Robert has 20 years of experience working on large-scale projects with an emphasis on materials technology and building systems. He is passionate about the design and construction process concentrating on the documentation and delivery of complex projects with challenging schedules. Robert has been the Project Architect on and led the technical design of the $100M Ford Field renovation that re-imagined the fan experience as well as the Miami Open, a game changing design featuring modular and permanent construction. Both of these projects were successfully completed despite extremely challenging schedules and scale. He is also versatile in façade assessment and building renovation and has overseen the certification for multiple LEED Gold buildings.
Associates
Carl has accumulated over 25 years of IT management and support experience in the architectural industry. Providing ROSSETTI’s staff the tools to accomplish their tasks in the most efficient and effective way, Carl and his team’s focus has always been proactively and responsively supporting and enhancing talented and creative minds through technology. His early career experiences as a junior architect give him unique understanding of the process and tools designers need to be creative and technical for projects of various sizes. Carl’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and flexible approach to technology infrastructure and security, as well as hands-on end user support, keeps ROSSETTI on the front edge of solutions to accomplish any need the team requires.
Dan has over fifteen years of experience from concept design to project completion for a diverse range of projects, including sports and entertainment, commercial, mixed-use retail, residential, transportation, hospitality, and recreation. Dan’s role is to work with the design team to ensure constructability, developing the construction documents, and does reviews for quality assurance and control. Dan is deeply knowledgeable about code-related criteria, ensuring safe, ADA-compliant spaces for every space. He also works extensively with city officials for permitting and code reviews.
Jon has over fifteen years of technical design experience at ROSSETTI. He coordinates with the design team, engineers and specialty consultants to develop construction drawings for the firm’s large, complex sports and entertainment, commercial and hospitality projects. At the same time, Jon is equally skilled in documenting details for corporate and premium hospitality interiors projects. His extensive knowledge of constructability allows him to effectively solve issues in the field with a focus on the original design intent of the project.
Joe is a multi-talented designer who has a unique niche in facade design, fabrication, and installation. His extensive knowledge in these disciplines bridges conceptual sports and entertainment ideas with digital methods of design and fabrication. Joe is a whiz at 3D modeling and 3D printing, extending ROSSETTI’s capabilities in experimentation and visualization for our clients. Joe has fabricated FF+E concepts for the 2017 renovation of Ford Field and has worked on some of our large, international sports and entertainment projects such as CalgaryNEXT and LeBreton Flats. Technology aside, Joe is an expert craftsman, skilled at designing and building custom furniture for a variety of residential projects in Metro-Detroit.
Justin has a broad range of experience in project management and design construction documentation. As a project manager for ROSSETTI, Justin acts as a center point for both the project team and the client, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the design process. He excels at guiding the client’s vision and facilitating the project’s schedule and budget. A strong leader, Justin has skillfully directed teams while multitasking dozens of details for several highly-detailed and coordinated projects such as event activation for the Miami Gand Prix at the Miami International Autodrome, the multi-phase upgrades of an NFL stadium and the reimagination of MiLB West Michigan Whitecaps LMCU Ballpark.
Kevin works closely with our urban planning and design teams to develop vital community places. His strength is in conceptual design and visualization, capturing client vision, distilling public engagement results, integrating site and building design, and implementing sustainable design measures (informed by longevity and maintenance considerations) into each project. Kevin ensures that each space has a strong sense of place, functionality, and creativity while staying true to its local context and culture. He has experience designing for riverfronts, entertainment venues, streetscapes, parks, and mixed-use projects. Kevin builds design concepts in a 3D model using an iterative process that becomes a valuable client tool.
Laura weaves architecture together with graphic, interior and industrial design to create bold visual solutions for ROSSETTI’s clients. Her background in environmental graphics and wayfinding assists the design team in shaping ideas that communicate experiences, brand and legacy. Her work with the team begins immediately in order to conceptualize early for the most successful solution for each project. Laura’s knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials generates custom signage options, finishes and unique details in interior spaces ranging from sports stadiums to corporate environments.
Liz’s work includes some of the most popular and engaging interior concepts in Metro Detroit, including the Detroit Athletic Club, Prime and Proper, Olin, and Townhouse Detroit. As a lead interior designer, she is skilled in interpreting each client’s culture, brand, and specific project goals to create hospitality spaces that are welcoming. Liz’s brings a professional perspective to interior design and will work closely with the client to manage expectations under pressure. She continually seeks out the best in the industry for sourcing all interior finishes, furniture, lighting, fabrics, art and accessories. With her new role at ROSSETTI, she looks forward to utilizing their extensive expertise and support team as it relates to large scale installations.
With over 10 years of experience, Megan bridges the gap between communications and design. Her background in architecture enables her to use her graphic design skills to shape ideas that communicate experiences, brand and legacy. Megan’s experience includes but is not limited to: logo generation, customized editorial design, digital design, websites, social media, art direction, signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics. She works with Leadership and the Business Development group to manage the branding and marketing efforts for ROSSETTI, including the maintenance of the company’s brand as well as public relations, communications and marketing pitches.
A 20-year ROSSETTI veteran architect, Patty has extensive experience planning and producing complete sets of construction documents for the firm’s large, complex projects. She is also experienced in all aspects of Construction Administration, including processing and reviewing submittals, responding to RFI’s and preparing field reports and punch lists. Patty is highly skilled in using advanced 3D design software, such as REVIT, Grasshopper and Navisworks, as well as our project management and client and consultant communication tools.
Tessa works closely with the architectural and interiors design teams to develop and implement design strategy for sports and entertainment, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use projects. She works extensively with client operations staffs on back-of-house areas creating design efficiencies for kitchens, commissaries, concessions and circulation. She is an expert on products and finishes. Tessa also works with city and building code reviews in subsequent phases. In 2017, Tessa was selected among a highly competitive pool of applications into the AIA Detroit Leadership Development Program, aimed to refine leadership skills essential for community impact.
Tony is a senior design talent noted for fresh ideas that exude ambiance and a sense of place. When approaching design, Tony compares current trends with historical aesthetics to develop designs that are timeless and sophisticated. His passion for sustainable design incorporates innovative solutions early in the design phase. Tony collaborates with the entire design team to bring his refined aesthetic to every project ranging from sports hospitality to Detroit’s hottest restaurants.
