The Corner Tap Room pays homage to Old Tiger Stadium, a historic Detroit landmark. The design goal was to create an immersive experience that celebrates the phenomenal legacy of Tiger Stadium, showcasing stories and memories coming that came to life at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull Avenue. Incorporated into the design are original objects from Tiger Stadium, like the neon score boardshowing real time scores, seating section signs, and vintage graphics. Large photographs of the park on the wall behind the scoreboard, and the peanut guy between the antique restroom doors, evoke nostalgia for customers who remember the old ball park. The bar’s wooden base celebrating Michigan on one side, and Trumbull on the other and forms a physical representation of the corner. The progression of the infamous Detroit “D” lines the ceiling in illuminated pennants at the entry of the Corner Tap Room into the ballpark.

The Corner Tap Room provides a more upscale experience to Tigers fans, with rotating craft beers, fresh local fare, and a nostalgic experience. In addition, during its first season of operations, The Corner Tap Room hit or exceeded all performance targets.
