When the Detroit Pistons moved back to downtown Detroit, a new game-day locker room had to be carved out of Little Caesars Arena. Taking cues from the concept of a showroom, the design follows the player procession from pre-game preparation to showtime and post-game recovery. All design decisions considered player comfort and seamless routine. The luxurious team locker room features an illuminated ceiling and a terrazzo floor. Connected to the hydro room, the environment is designed to nurture player mind, body and spirit. In contrast, the player lounge has a warm, domestic aesthetic with walnut interiors, a sculptural polished concrete feature bar, and open kitchen to enhance comradery between team members.
