ROSSETTI worked with DTE Energy Company to develop a reuse plan for the iconic Conners Creek Power Plant, located on Detroit’s east riverfront.   The 76-acre site, whose remaining buildings include the 400,000-square foot powerhouse as well as two towering stacks (once one of the tallest structures in the city), has a long legacy in Detroit’s history. The facility has been vacant for decades and multiple previous plans have failed to come to fruition.

The goal of the reuse plan was to create a compelling narrative that makes the case for preservation and reuse of this historic facility. ROSSETTI utilized previous market studies to craft three practical and inspiring reuse scenarios, helping the stakeholders approach the massive facility in a strategic way.  The resulting plan offers options that would have multiple benefits for both the client and the public.
