Training facilities at Orange Coast College were spread over a hodgepodge of buildings that were under-utilized by students. The buildings fragmented the athletic department and inhibited recruiting new student-athletes to the college.
The new fitness center is designed to be a public building that serves a variety of athletic programs, as well as the community. Open and transparent, the activity on the inside is visible from the outside. The complex is an instant landmark, both on campus and for its visibility to the adjacent community and recruiting athletes and it draws more students than ever before. ROSSETTI worked closely with the College to keep construction costs low by phasing the project into multiple packages.
