A MICHIGAN MODERN HERITAGE BUILDING
The fast-paced growth of metro Detroit during the 1960s inspired Federal Mogul to locate the majority of its corporate workforce in one landmark building. Located at an intersection of two major vehicular arteries, the 148,000 square foot complex resides on an 18-acre site with rolling hills. The majority of the building's design focuses on the two concrete-faced buildings, interconnected and linked by a multi-level atrium and entry court. Its most unique feature is the two-story glass box encased in a modular pre-cast concrete frame and structurally separated from the lower building. This unique architectural gesture creates the impression that the new upper building is hovering over the lower office building.
