Miami Open

ROSSETTI is designing a new tennis complex for the Miami Open which will surround Hard Rock Stadium. The design for the complex was inspired by the idea of the Miami party–channeling the energy of the city’s infamous nightlife, which will create an immersive spectacle atmosphere for players, guests, and sponsors. The expansive, new tennis campus will include a 5,000-seat Grandstand, two competition courts with full broadcast capability at 1,500 seats and 3,000 seats respectively, and 8 regular tournament courts with total seating for up to 2,900 patrons. Additionally, the site will include 18 practice courts and several viewing galleries.

Connectivity is the key to linking Hard Rock Stadium with the new courts. The ROSSETTI team designed a centralized Dolphin Plaza along a spine, which links the tennis campus to the existing stadium. The plaza is flanked by two public squares that will celebrate Miami’s social culture with food trucks, tents, open spaces, and sponsor engagement. The Plaza will also be lined with lush, shaded palm trees and a fountain as the focal point, giving breathtaking views of the stadium at one end with the new Grandstand situated at the other end. During the Miami Open, a temporary stadium court will be developed within the existing Hard Rock Stadium, utilizing existing premium seating for a new viewing experience.

The new experience will be complete for the 2019 Miami Open.
