MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT LEVERAGES INNOVATIONS IN modular construction
The corner of Trumbull and Michigan Avenue, in the heart of Detroit’s bustling Corktown neighborhood, has been empty since the 2008 demolition of the Detroit Tigers’ beloved baseball stadium. ROSSETTI, in partnership with Larson Realty Group is transforming the neglected lot into a new development for the future while maintaining the legacy of the past.
A welcome addition to the historic Corktown community, The Corner will feature approximately 26,000 SF of commercial retail space, with thoughtfully curated opportunities for local Detroit businesses and entrepreneurs. Above the retail podium, three stories of 111 residential units will offer views to the adjacent reactivated ballpark as well as vistas along the key axes of Michigan and Trumbull Avenues. ROSSETTI’s concept for The Corner takes special care to lay out the condominium units along the street, maintaining the iconic field in the center of the property.
This project leveraged innovations in modular construction. The units were manufactured in a controlled environment and delivered to the site with interiors fully complete. The use of modular design and construction reduces construction time, hazards and logistics challenges.
