Training facilities at Orange Coast College were spread over a hodgepodge of buildings that were under used by students. The buildings fragmented the athletic department and inhibited recruiting new student athletes to the college.

The new fitness center is designed to be a very public building that serves a variety of athletic programs, as well as the community. Open and transparent, the activity on the inside is visible from the outside. A master plan also included a new softball field, renovation of the baseball field, and a renovated ticket center.

The complex became an instant landmark, both on campus and for its visibility to the adjacent community. It’s been a boon to recruiting athletes and it draws more students than ever before into the facility. ROSSETTI worked closely with the College to keep construction costs low by phasing the project into multiple packages.
