Penguin Puffin Conservatory Study
In this concept study, visitors waddle,
climb + plunge their way through a rich,
interactive penguin experience indicative
of the bird’s natural habitat. Observation
wings, a toboggan run swimming pool
+ underwater portals inspire guests to
hop from the path to share spontaneous
movements with the penguins.

The building façade features operable
louvers which open + close, like penguin
wings, to heat or cool the building. The
effect embraces the life + climate of the
sub-arctic penguins. Renderings + collateral
materials were developed to assist in the
fundraising efforts for the plan.
