Four internationally acclaimed firms have been chosen as finalists in a design competition to imagine how to use the 22-acre site of West Riverfront Park. ROSSETTI is the local urban planning partner on one of the selected teams, led by Seattle-based Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in collaboration with Arup and Guy Nordenson and Associates. Other local partners include Grand Rapids-based Conservation Design Forum, Detroit-based Building Community Value, Detroit-based Salonnière and Detroit-based Mannik Smith Group.

Danny Zausner is in the fifth set of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center transformation. He is the chief operating officer and managing director of the tennis center and the man behind the plan. That five-year plan, announced in 2013, begun in 2014, scheduled to conclude in 2018, is a $600-million makeover that includes the roof over Ashe Stadium, the new Grandstand, a completely rebuilt south campus, the new Court 17, completely rebuilt practice courts and adjacent field courts. Plus new food offerings, entertainment, hospitality options, the whole entertainment package.
