ROSSETTI was hired to completely transform the former Oxford Inn, located on Main Street in Royal Oak, into a classy, vintage atmosphere with modern touches for the new Jim Brady’s Detroit.
The American-style restaurant is based on the original Diamond Jim Brady’s, embracing the nostalgia of the 1950’s with contemporary interpretation.
The arrival experience features glamourous 1950’s era decor paired with subtle details, such as the asymmetrical hexagon tiled floor, floor to ceiling mirrors, custom lighting, and diamond patterned screens to create a swanky yet fun environment.
Many elements pay homage to the original Jim Brady’s in Livonia. One side of the dining room features a lavish “gangster” booth adorned with ruby crushed velvet. The other side recreates the former Jim Brady’s booths with street lamps and street blade signs. The whole interior is rich and powerful, yet incredibly inviting.
The vintage pink pay phone and pink tiled floors in the woman’s bathroom were both key features found in the original restaurant. The hot pink graphic wallpaper was specially designed by ROSSETTI to add a pop of modern flair.
The mid-century modern interior compliments the restaurant’s menu which mixes original recipes from the 1950’s with present-day twists. Jim Brady’s Detroit is a journey back through time right in Metro-Detroit.
